Day 5-6 chicken egg incubation

Last night I had a dream that I had twins, and I put them in the fridge for a little while. I think my brain was mixing up the fact that chicken eggs can chill, literally, in a fridge for a couple weeks and then you can still incubate and hatch them. In fact I’ve heard talk of people hatching a certain store brand, and I’m planning to find out myself, just for science… eventually. I only have room for two brooder boxes at a time 😆 It’s really hard to see anything here, but here’s our most recent chicken ultrasound!! Mostly, you can just see their air bubble. They’ll start the hatch sometime between tomorrow evening and Saturday noonish, and I can’t wait. I’ve removed the only dud, so 7 out of 8 chicks are now completing their life journey. There’s no room to really wiggle now, but I can see them just barely shake a down feather when I light them. Spring has sprung!! Let the hatching begin!!
