If you want a taste of Indonesia in London, Toba in St James is one I'd highly recommend! Authentic Indonesian cuisine with dishes from all over, the flavours are truly a smack in the face in the best way possible! 🤤 - Sate Padang (Minangkabau-style Grilled Ox Tongue Skewers) - Otak-otak (Grilled Fishcake served with Spicy Peanut Sauce) - Ikan Arsik (Cod fillet Toba style) - Toba's Crispy duck (Half duck served with two types of sambal) - Terung Balado (Aubergine in sambal) - Dadar Gulung (Pandan rolled pancake) Highlights were the sate padang, ikan arsik, terung balado and the sambals! The sate was meaty and tender, the broth with the cod was so flavourful and had a nice heat to it and the aubergine was exactly how my mum would make it at home. What we tried ✨ 🥩 Smashed Beef Ribs + Beef Tendon ($22.50) Super juicy beef short ribs with crispy fried beef tendons, served penyet-style with spicy sambal (you can choose from mild to EXTREMELY hot 🥵) 🍲 Oxtail Soup ($15) A warm, hearty bowl of traditional Indonesian oxtail soup, slow-braised in a clear, fragrant broth with local spices. So good with rice, a must order! 🥬 Stir-Fried Kangkung ($8) Loved this! Cooked with garlic and chilli in a savoury sauce, simple but sooo satisfying 🥚 Tahu Telur ($8) Fried tofu with fluffy egg omelette, drizzled in rich peanut sauce and topped with crackers. Delicious indo food in sydney cbd! 🔥🔥 This hidden gem in sydney cbd serves delicious authentic Indonesian food! It's pretty affordable too with most dishes under $20! My fave dish was the ikan goreng kremes which looked like a flying fish! I loved the strong garlicky flavour to it 🤤 We also tried the nasi kapau (which had a good variety of curry and sides) with the beef rendang, and the duck penyet 🔥 The drinks are super refreshing and I always love a milo dinosaur!
