Kate Bush wrote this song in a single night when she was 18. Her label wanted a different track as the debut single. She fought them and won. First female artist to reach number one in the UK with a self-written song. She and Emily Brontë share the same birthday. Have you seen Emerald Fennell’s version yet? 👇

This rebound copy is available on my Etsy! 🖤 I read Wuthering Heights and… 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I couldn’t wait to make a pretty new cover for one of my new favorite books of all time. And now it goes on my trophy shelf 🏆📚 I decided to pick up Wuthering Heights and finally give it a go (it’s been on my physical TBR for a couple of years) and devoured it in a single weekend. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this book since I finished reading it — a toxic, mesmerizing, raw, and quite deranged story of two obsessed souls that sucks you in the entire way through. I’m still haunted by the fact that this was Emily Brontë’s one and only published novel. Her writing is so dark and addicting it felt like being in a trance and I absolutely WILL reread one day. STUNNINGGG. 🖤 Now time to buckle up for the movie, which I know will be nothing like the book but I’m open minded regardless 😆 ____ Bookbinding, diy book cover, paperback to hardcover, rebinding books, bookish hobby, bookish crafts, Cathy and Heathcliff, classic novels, special edition book

(Ad) A Wuthering Affair with Brontë Country – with @airbnb. “We have umbrellas,” our host said, “for all this wuthering weather.” Wuthering is Yorkshire dialect. It means roaring wind, wind that blows right through you. I was in Haworth, West Yorkshire, the home of the Brontë sisters, where Emily Brontë wrote “Wuthering Heights”. It was a visit inspired by the movie. I stayed in Heather Cottage, the corner house just off Main Street, the stone and slate darkened by age, and all the lovelier for it. I adored the cottage kitchen, its cheerful bits and bobs, the rattan carpet beater, the antique barometer, the wheat wreath, all the little things that make a house homely. Haworth is on a hilltop in the South Pennines on the edge of the Yorkshire moors. These moors are at the heart of “Wuthering Heights”. They are vast, wild, scary, but magnificent. They get your heart going. They make you more sensitive to beauty. The scariness intensifies the magnificence as it does in the doomed love affair between Catherine and Heathcliff. I went for a wander, with Lenny, my Jacob Elordi, my furry Heathcliff. Mist rolled in off the moors, the kind of mist Emily Brontë described as ‘fleecy cloud’ and ‘silvery vapour.’ Main Street is steep and cobbled and the cobblestones caught the orange glow of the old streetlamps. Haworth never looked more photogenic. The best photo spot is on Church Street. Start at the Brontë Parsonage Museum, walk down past the graveyard where all the Brontës but one are buried, turn right by the old post office, and stop on the church steps: the stone gateposts frame Main Street and the old apothecary perfectly. Emily Brontë wrote: ‘What on earth is half so dear, so longed for, as the hearth of home?’ I do love travel, but I love home just as much. The dream would be to travel widely yet somehow end up back at home each night. I partnered with Airbnb because places like Heather Cottage feel like a home away from home. After a long day exploring, returning to the cottage was utter bliss. Nothing could be cosier than sitting by a woodfire, with a dozing labrador by your side, in all this wuthering weather. #airbnbpartner #WutheringHeightsMovie

With the new film adaptation of Wuthering Heights on the way, we had to stop by the little Yorkshire town that shaped the world of the iconic Brontë sisters ✨ Haworth feels like stepping straight into one of their novels. Cobbled streets, rolling moors, moody skies and that wild Yorkshire air, and suddenly it all makes sense how Charlotte Brontë, Emily Brontë and Anne Brontë dreamt up such intense, windswept stories right here! You can almost picture them walking these same paths, caught up in their own thoughts, before heading back to the parsonage, which you can still visit, to write their stories 🪶📖 📍 Haworth, West Yorkshire, England 🚙 4+ hours

Wuthering Heights spans generations, yet its author left almost no trace. Emily Brontë’s quiet life stood in stark contrast to the intensity of her writing. With a new screen adaptation coming, her mystery feels newly relevant. #dwculture #dwchangeyourlife

🎞️✨ #WutheringHeights #CumbresBorrascosas #MargotRobbie #JacobElordi

After watching the film, I just kept thinking about that Letterboxd review that said: “Emily Brontë died of tuberculosis 177 years ago, and yet this adaptation is still the worst thing that has ever happened to her.” #wutheringheights #jacobelordi #explorepage #margotrobbie #foryou

I feel so sad for Emily Brontë that her beautiful work is being downgraded in this way 💔 if you know me, you know that I will not be watching the film, despite loving the book 😔 however you feel about the film, please absolutely go and read the book - it’s tragically beautiful, atmospheric, and heart wrenching, and a masterpiece of literature that will continue to stand the test of time 🤍 Q: have you read Wuthering Heights? #bookstagram #classicliterature #wutheringheights #emilybrontë #penguinclassics

Bush wrote "Wuthering Heights" aged 18, in a few hours late at night on 5 March 1977. She was inspired after seeing the 1970 BBC adaptation of the 1847 novel Wuthering Heights. She subsequently read the novel and discovered that she shared her birthday with its author, Emily Brontë.
