🚌 BUSES ARE BACK TOMORROW 🚌 @energex has been working hard to restore power across our city. ⚡️🔌 We still have two bus depots without mains power: 📍 Willawong 📍 Garden City The good news is we have backup generators in place and our bus services will be fully up and running for first service tomorrow (Sunday) morning from 5.30am.

A faulty electricity pillar box has put on a brief but spectacular fireworks show for residents in Caboolture. Energex crews had to cordon-off the intersection of Herd and Male Streets after flames erupted and smoke began billowing from the underground box. Energex is still investigating the cause but says the recent heavy rains and trapped moisture could have sparked the blaze. #7NEWS

Nobody could stop this old DA despite over 85,000 amazing people (👏) signing my petition. We were told by many of our Decision Makers we would learn from Grasstree Court. So why do we keep repeating the same mistakes over & over again????? Bob & I want to work with all levels of Government to protect our Glossies habitat Now!!! So who out there is going to stand by what they said to Bob & I. So far there is only one Decision Maker who has been working towards better outcomes for the Glossies. Where are all the others????? BREAKING: Energex has released a Electricity Restoration plan. 💡 To see detail about your address you can visit the outage finder at: 💻 https://www.energex.com.au/outages/outage-finder/emergency-outages-text-view/ Please note the “Next Update” date is what the estimated restoration timeline is (as per the Restoration Plan). The key points are that the Energex team is aiming to have supply available to: 👉80% of impacted customers by Saturday evening 30th December 2023 👉90% of the network restored by Sunday evening of 31 December 2023. 👉The remainder of the 10% primarily live in the area’s of Mt Tamborine and Jimboomba. It’s important to note that if power supply is available but you have received an ‘Electricity Defect Report’ in your meter box by Energex, power will be unable to be connected to the premises. The owner of the affected home (including landlords) must then contact a licensed electrical contractor to carry out a safety check and necessary repairs. Once safe the licensed electrical contractor will contact Energex on your behalf to advise the property is safe for reconnection. Energex crews will attend and confirm it is safe to reconnect to the network and you will have power as soon as the network has been safely reenergised. 💰 Emergency hardship assistance payments have also been activated. You can apply for $180 per person, up to $900 for a family of 5 or more, to help purchase food, clothing and medical supplies or secure temporary accommodation. This grant isn’t income or asset tested. A woman has died and more than 100,000 homes are without power after severe thunderstorms in south-east Queensland on Christmas night. Danny Donald from Energex said some places may be without power for a few days, with old-growth gum trees blocking roads across the network, debris “everywhere” and more than 500 power lines down. Boxing Day weather is also predicted to be volatile across NSW, Victoria and Queensland, with more thunderstorms and rain forecasted. #severeweather #Australianweather #GoldCoast
