There’s an authenticity here at Future Forward Caribbean here in Jamaica that I haven’t experienced in a long time - a real desire to create real people centered inclusive growth not rooted in pomp, perception and posturing but in efficiency of processes, economic growth and inclusive people development. I’m so grateful to have been invited to be here, to learn and to share after feeling fairly disconnected from the region. Peak into days 3 & 4 from Future Forward. And what a finish it was! More bold conversations. A beautiful awards ceremony honoring women impact leaders from across the region. And a closing session at Strawberry Hill that felt equal parts reflection and RESET. We celebrated the women building change. We deepened the dialogue. We left with clarity and connection. Four days. Looking back at the past week, I’m deeply grateful. Just the week before, I was in Antigua and Barbuda delivering the keynote address at the Youth Forum of the Caribbean–EU Parliamentary Assembly. In my remarks, I spoke about how global shocks and conflicts no matter where they begin eventually land on our tables as Caribbean people. Today, as the world watches the war unfolding involving Iran and the wider Middle East, that reality feels even more present. The escalation has already begun affecting global energy markets and stability far beyond the region. After everything I personally went through this past week, those words resonate even more deeply. Life is fragile, purpose matters, and I’m simply thankful to God for carrying me through. Grateful to the organizers for the opportunity, and reflecting on the many blessings that continue to guide this journey. 🙏

Day 2 of the OAS Hemispheric Workshop on Just Transition, Green & Blue Jobs concluded with purpose, partnership, and progress. 🌎✨ Over two dynamic days, Ministers, technical experts, and delegates from across the Americas came together not just to talk - but to align policy, share national experiences, and shape a framework that strengthens the link between labour and sustainable development. As Chair of Working Group 1, I am deeply proud that The Bahamas successfully hosted this historic gathering. The engagement was rich, the dialogue was honest, and the commitment to inclusive, equitable transitions was clear. Most importantly, our delegates left inspired, connected, and ready to act.

I’m so proud of the @GirlsOpportunityAlliance Network—a vibrant community of grassroots leaders who are leading the charge for girls’ education and empowerment around the world. These passionate changemakers are working on some of the most pressing issues facing girls today. They’re helping girls pursue their education, from the bustling cities of Tanzania to the remote mountains of Nepal. They’re connecting girls in rural Kenya and India who aren’t in school to life-changing learning opportunities. And they’re working to remove barriers that prevent girls from going to school at all, like ending child marriage. Last fall, the Girls Opportunity Alliance brought together more than 50 of these leaders from 21 countries in Mauritius, where they had the chance to learn from one another and from experts in girls’ education. They dived into the latest research. They exchanged best practices to strengthen their programs. And best of all, they built lasting relationships with one another. I know that together, these leaders will set off ripples of change for years to come. The Sunlight Award honours those who illuminate paths for others — bringing warmth, visibility, and energy into spaces that need it most. Brittan Davidson is an Afro-Caribbean community developer whose work brings clarity, care, and momentum to the systems that shape community life. With over a decade of experience in equity-focused program design and facilitation, Brittan builds spaces where BIPOC and 2SLGBTQI+ communities can be fully seen, supported, and resourced. Grounded in decolonization, disability justice, and diasporic Black knowledge, Brittan’s leadership is both practical and deeply reflective. Their work bridges strategy and spirit — drawing on Afrocentric approaches to care, intersectionality, and faith-informed community building to create structures that are not only inclusive, but sustaining. Brittan reminds us that when equity work is rooted in warmth and intention, it doesn’t just respond to harm — it illuminates new ways forward. Where Brittan stands, others grow.
