Why is it as a society that we always assume that losing wei

Why is it as a society that we always assume that losing weight equates to health, happiness and confidence… when so many times it can mean the opposite. Through any chapter in life when I lose a lot of weight, it’s usually been down to ill health, stress, or body dismorphia. I used to be a prisoner to diet culture - probably like a lot of you. It would make me obsess over food which also meant I thought about food all the time. It was all I thought about and I’d be disappointed in myself when I “caved in”. I’d see exercise as something I had to do to punish myself for eating. There was nothing healthy about my diet or my punitive exercise measures. And yet, the more weight I lost the more people would marvel! “Wow you look amazing!” “What’s your secret?” I remember having both Covid and Sepsis and being told that “at least I’d lose weight”. It’s unhinged when you really think about what diet culture has done to us. I remember though thinking if I could just shrink myself a bit more I’d be happier, more confident, more loved. And the truth is, the opposite was true. My insecurities stopped me from living. I am way happier with my body these days. I love my body - not necessarily for the way it looks but for what it does. I mean I’m still recovering from childbirth - incontinence and I’ll probably need colorectal surgery too. But I just appreciate everything my body does. And I’ve also learned that my body is just a vessel that allows me to live my life and do amazing things. And since I stopped dieting and restricting foods, I find that I have a way more healthy diet. Finally, I feel WAY more confident and beautiful now then I ever did when I was younger and smaller. I really hope one day the narrative changes and we stop judging people’s health and happiness on how much they can shrink themselves. ❤️🙌🏾

Is it realistic to have > 1,000 doughnuts & look like this? Creator credit: @bradyervin 4 years = 1,460 days 1,000 / 1,460 = .68 / day This equates to about 5 donuts per week (4.75 doughnuts or more) 🔑 80/20 rule - 80% intake coming from Whole Foods, 20% from processed foods. If diet is otherwise balanced, I don’t see why not. Key is having a good relationship with food. 🚨Spots currently open for 1 on 1 coaching! The Pizza Master shares his secrets to making award-winning

The Pizza Master shares his secrets to making award-winning pizza👑🤴🍕 👨‍🍳 @wondergiulio 🎥 @dannygrubs Americans consume 3 billion pizzas annually: that equates to $38 billion worth of pizzas. This mean that 350 slices of pizza is being consumed EVERY SECOND. For an average American, they’re consuming 40 pizza pies per year, and it’s noteworthy that 93% of Americans order pizza at least once a month. How do you compare to that statistic? The origins of pizza have been long debated, but one of the most credible resources share that pizza was first invented as a last resort meal for low-income families in Naples, Italy. Once a last resort meal, pizza is now an international dish and considered the favorite food for many. Are there any other theories that you know regarding the origins of Pizza? Please share in the comments. Today we’re going to learn from the LeBron James of the Pizza world, @wondergiulio and he’s going to share his TOP secrets that are forbidden from being shared to outsiders (slight exaggeration here). One of my favorite foods is pizza, and I always wanted to learn how to make it. Who better to learn from other than 5 time pizza world championship winner, Giulio. Breastfeeding - it’s a blessing and a curse. 🤣 I saw a meme going round that said that claimed that one year of breastfeeding equates to an estimated time of about 1800 hours, and if you work 40 hours a week that is 1960 hours. SO IT’S A LOT. I sometimes find the feeding narrative a bit toxic and unhelpful, because obviously bottle feeding takes time to - when breastfeeding is easy (which I know it isn’t always), it’s a lot easier than sterilising bottles and heating up milk let’s be honest. But the key difference I guess that bottle feeding is a job that can be shared. Breastfeeding can (unfortunately) only be done by one person and one person only. I’ve now fed Alf and Ada for 2 years in total, which is just bonkers because I never really put pressure on myself. It just happened and was also pretty straightforward for us - I also had the privilege of having access to lactation consultants and had to go private when I had a severe and painful rash that the nhs couldn’t (wouldn’t) help me with in lockdown. It’s been a lot - from blocked ducts to pumping on live tv on Steph’s Packed Lunch to having to take Ada to DJ gigs to not really being able to do anything with Alf as he wouldn’t take a bottle. And that’s before the physical impact of feeding for so long - my spine has actually changed shape and I’m in constant pain from the same repetitive movement. And I’ve not slept a full night for a year!  BUT! And here’s the big but! 🤣 I’ve also been waited on hand and foot because I’ve been otherwise engaged! Tommy has given me water, and coffees, and cooked dinner, and tidied the house, and done the washing - all because I’m stuck with Ada upstairs. So now Ada is in her own room and Tommy is doing the night shift - I might actually have to start getting up to get my own water. HELP. 🤣💦

You might want to rethink using plastic cutting boards 🫢 According to a recent 2023 study titled ‘Cutting Boards: An overlooked source of microplastics in human food?’, researchers found that we could be exposed to a shocking 79 million microplastic particles in a years time. This equates to about 10 credit cards worth of plastic in your body 🤯 Why is this a problem? Microplastics have been shown to contribute to problems such as Alzheimer’s, cancer, thyroid conditions, and many more. Unfortunately, once they’re in our bodies, we don’t detox from them that well. So they’re there for pretty much ever 😕 Don’t get us wrong, we’re not trying fear monger or scare you. This is solely meant to educate you and help you make a more informed decision so you can live healthier lives. We suggest switching to a solid wood cutting board. If you take care of it, you can pass it down generations!

Don’t settle for slow combat sidestroke swim times. A slow CSS time equates to less than ideal scores through the rest of the PST (physical screening test) because you expend too much energy in the pool. If you swim over 10 minutes on the 500-yard CSS (combat sidestroke) swim test, then we need to work on your technique. 🔥🔥 Use these tips to improve your speed in the water: - Build a strong scissor kick to propel you down the lane, power comes from your hips, glutes and thighs. - Focus on your streamlined position: stack hands, lock elbows, tuck chin, and biceps on your ears. - Be efficient- shoot for between 4-6 strokes to cross 25 yards. - Spend 2 seconds in the glide, no more no less. - Breathe out underwater as soon as your head goes under, keep an open airway. - Build endurance so you don’t spend any time resting on the wall. - Make your turns off the wall as quickly as possible- your outstretched hand is the one you grab the wall with. - Practice on both the right and left sides. - Have someone take a video of your form and send it to a coach for feedback and advice. 👉 Ultimately, it’s about being consistent with a structured swim training plan and focusing on efficiency of movement. I consistently help team members achieve sub-10-minute swim times and some under 8 minutes. Many of them do not have a background in swimming. Put in the work, and it will pay off. If you need to get in the pool every day of the week, then do it! Hammer your weaknesses until they are strengths. Make the water your second home. 🔱 #combatsidestroke #navyseal #waterconfidence
