A diagonal back finger angle creates stronger layers around the face while removing length at the bottom. Diagonal forward finger angle will create a softer transition from short to longer bottom lengths to keep length on the sides. Use this knowledge to customize the look for each guest.”

Simplified Face Framing tutorial 1. Create Your Guide Determine the length you want the starting point of your face frame. Do this by taking a piece of hair on either side of your clients part, your point cut your guide here. 2. Determine Over Direction Point this will decide how long your layers will fall. The further you over, direct over the face, the more length you will preserve. 3. Bring Sections Forward taking triangle subsections, you’re going to over direct the hair combing forward to your guide. 4. Check Both Sides to check both sides of your section to make sure they are even, you were going to take a unicorn triangle section over, directing up and forward 🦄 cut any excess ends. 5. Create Movement Slide cut out bulk when wet and dry.
