We need more homes and that is why, in principle, I support new housebuilding. But where those homes will put excessive pressure on local services and the developer refuses to contribute sufficient funds to increase local educational or health services, then I will oppose the plans. That’s why I spoke on behalf of thousands of local residents against the development of 1200 new homes on the land south of Longfield Avenue in Fareham. Especially now that Welborne homes are being built, we need to ensure that homes are built only where there are sufficient local services. #fareham
