If we fed her too early, then she would have had pressure in her ears from the ascent and it would have made her upset. So we had to distract her until we could board. Another reason to wait is usually she falls asleep after eating, so she sleeps through the flight! We tried multiple ways to distract her, like going to get a toy and looking out the window.
