📚 Building Super Readers in 5th Grade! 🚀📖 Watch how we rock our independent reading time! ⏱️ For the first 2 weeks, we time ourselves to build reading muscles 💪🏾 📚 until we can go the distance: 25 minutes of non-stop reading magic! ✨ As they will hear me say 1,000,000 times this school year, “The person doing the work is the person doing the learning.” The single most impactful contribution to my students’ reading growth each year is that they read… A LOT! This lesson comes from The Daily 5. My 5th graders absolutely loved our end-of-year book study!✨ 🧡14 days - read aloud & chapter summary work 🧡3 days - projects 🧡 2 days - watch party -Next year, I will have students only do posters and no Canva projects because I was so impressed with the outcome of the posters🤩. -I will also add 1 day to do a gallery walk and look at each others final products. If you’re reading this THANK YOU for sticking with me and for your patience. It’s been over a month since I last posted. To be frank, the end of 2024 was rough mentally, physically, and emotionally. Although I’m smiling in this video, last month was filled with tears, illness and struggles. I’m human after all. It feels good to be back but admittedly, I haven’t yet mastered how to balance my new job, motherhood, and content creation so I’m not sure when my next video will be… hopefully not too far from now.
