Well I thought I’d try something different and play around with figures. Been a little bored with landscapes lately. Also I’ve really inspired by the old masters lately like John Singer Sargent with his bold use of brush strokes and vivid yet tamed colors. One of the most important pieces in our auction this spring comes from a prominent Japanese collection. Likely debuted in 2013 for the year of the snake, the Collier Serpenti from @bulgari with emerald accents was one of the top highlights of the collection that they introduced during the time. These were in very high demand, and there was an all diamond version of this piece that was sold out almost immediately when it made its debut. They were most likely one of a kind pieces, or only created in limited numbers as we rarely see these lengths at auction. A similar piece was featured in a NY times article back then. . A comparable one was sold at our New York Magnificent Jewels auction in 2019 as the cover lot – it was all set in diamonds and achieved 920,000 USD with an estimate of 800,000 – 1,000,000 USD. The low estimate on this particular piece is at 191,000 USD so it will be interesting to see how much it goes for! I love how versatile the piece is and personally like way it’s styled as a belt 😉 .
