After doing my homework about crypto back in 2019 I decided it was at best a Ponzi scheme and at worst a new form of arbitrage, money laundering, and naked wealth extraction. Turns out I was right. Not only does crypto require bookoo energy (which we don’t have) to run, it’s entirely arbitrary and is set up to benefit the elite in every single way. Our economic system is already overly financialized and crypto is just another layer of displacement from what should be most valuable ie. skilled labor/services, material goods and physical assets. The reason inflation continues to rise much higher and faster than the average American income is because money continues to be generated through arbitrary means rather than through the creation of new products goods and services or through skilled labor which benefit people in the real world. The more wealth that is generated by moving the money around on Wall Street or through crypto the less valuable labor, and physical assets will be, because it dilutes the value of the dollar and the material assets it can buy. The elite wealth is based on debt and every time they print more money, they inflate their wealth and deflate the value of the dollar itself. All of you crypto scammers and burning man crypto Brose pushing these products on people ought to be ashamed. Crypto is a scam, it’s a grift, it’s just like any other predatory scheme that legally exploits our financial system at the expense of the livelihoods of other people. The total digitization of currencies must be opposed full stop.
