Tattoo study. First tattoo flash sheet. This floral came out of studying the Owen Jensen mother heart design. I sat down intending to work with that design more, but honestly it already felt perfect. My hand wandered and this little floral showed up instead. I love the simplicity of this one. Clean, balanced, and it fits the sheet nicely. Now I just need to get the whole sheet lined so I can finally start thinking about shading and color. For me, nibs required a steadier hand and more deliberate lines. You can’t rush with a nib and I enjoy the slower pace compared to a pen. Nibs feel more like a craft when it starts and stops with creating flash. Wanted to tell a little story with this flash sheet. The head in the middle is a Yokai I created called The Chef. He has the ability to turn any living thing he wants into any kind of food or kitchen utensil. I have drawn all his victims around him. Seems like the octopus was smart enough to get the upper hand on him 🤣 Starting to pump out some flash designs so I can tattoo them on fake skin for one of my apprenticeship assignments. Drew this concept on A3 printer paper with a 2B pencil.
