There are many ways to build a floating frame. I find this one to be the easiest. I will definitely explore more methods in the near future. Do you have a canvas that needs a frame, but you don’t want to buy one?! Here’s a little how to on making a floating frame! It’s super simple and DIY beginner friendly! 1. Measure your canvas and add 1/8” on each side to allow for a small gap around your picture. 2. Cut your frame and corner pieces. I used 1x2’s for both. 3. Assemble your frame using wood glue and brad nails (or pin nailer). Using corner clamps will help make sure your frame stays square while assembling. 4. Attach corner pieces making sure they are flush with the back of the frame. Use wood glue and brad nails to attach. 5. From this point your frame is assembled and the rest is up to you whether you leave it natural, stain or paint it! 6. Last but not least, attach your hanging hardware. I like to use D brackets and wire which makes adjusting your picture on the wall easier. GUYS! IT’S THAT SIMPLE! DIY Floating frame for your art! Hope your all having a lovely Wednesday. I’ve been meaning to edit this for a while for you as I think I got more messages about the frame than the art🥰 This was the easiest one yet! If you’ve followed me for a while you know I’ve done a few 😂 and each time I’ve done it differently. A frame immediately makes any art or canvas look super expensive especially if you do the little gap around too. Please bear in mind that these pieces of wood work with a 4cm depth canvas and if you get a different size canvas then the pieces of wood won’t look right. DIY floating frame details👇🏽 I needed a piece of artwork for this empty wall in my bedroom but I didn’t want to pay big bucks for it. So I found this canvas print, I glued it onto some leftover plywood and I made a floating frame for it. The best part was my all-in expense was $37! All the wood I used was scrap from old projects!
