The line flying all over! 😅 - Flyfishing for fish with speed makes it interesting when they take off! In this case it was a smaller bonefish, still strong and extremely fast for its size! Feels great with some warmer weather and sightfishing! 👌 #flyfishing #pescaconmosca #visionflyfishing #seewhatsoutthere #gonefishing #fluefiske #fiskeri #bonefish #sightfishing #flyfishingaddict #streamerfishing #fiska #thetugisthedrug #outdoor #fishingvideosn #flyfishinglife #bonefishflies #bonefishing #bonefishingworld #bonefishonfly #permitonthefly #tarpon #guidelife #fliegenfischen #pechealamouche #keepemwet #catchandrelease #flyfishingjunkie

Did you know there are around 64 species of flying fish, and yes, they really do take to the skies - technically gliding - up to 200 meters (over 650 feet) through the air to escape predators like tuna and marlins, while trying to avoid birds overhead. 🌊🐟✈️ With a burst of speed, flying fish whip their tails to launch themselves out of the water, then spread their wing-like pectoral fins to drift gracefully, much like birds. The air passing under their fins creates lift, and they even tap the water with their tails to extend their flight—a technique known as "taxiing." Although they can't change direction mid-air, their gliding skills are essential for survival in the competitive ocean environment. Even more fascinating, flying fish play a vital role in coral reef ecosystems by spawning near reefs, where their eggs provide food for smaller marine life. This supports the biodiversity that coral reefs rely on. 🌏💙 🌟Bonus Fact: In Barbados, flying fish are a national symbol and play a crucial role in the local economy and culture. The Barbados Fisheries Division works on the sustainable management and conservation of marine resources, including flying fish, ensuring they continue to thrive in their natural habitats. 📸 @kaylassmithphotography 🎥 @bucketlistfishing . . . . #worldanimalday #REEFScuba #Reefroundup 🌊 #FlyingFish #OceanWonders #MarineAdaptations #CoralReefEcosystem #ConservationInAction #ProtectOurOceans #CoralReefAlliance #OceanConservancy #live #viral #ocean #blue

One of the observations I noticed after spending countless hours filming trout chasing damselflies is that they have a much higher success rate when the damselflies are coupled together mating. The main reason is not because they offer a larger target , but more so due to the fact they tend to fly in more predictable lines of direction . Being coupled together limits agility , they tend to fly at a slow pace and in straighter lines . This more predictable flight path makes them highly susceptible to being ambushed . Another factor is damselflies coupled up together tend to fly lower near the water surface as they search for the perfect location to lay their eggs, making them a great target . The opportunity for a trout to have a two for one meal deal is hard to pass up . #damselfly #trout #wildworld #nature #wildlife @epicflyfish

Is there anything better than a perfect dry fly eat? ~ Moment #5 of 2025 takes us to New Zealand as @trippin_on_trout captures some massive terrestrial eats! ~ 🎥: @trippin_on_trout ~ #Flylords #FlyFishing #2025

Ambushing Carp with dry-flies is maybe one of the funnest things you can do with a fly rod! If you don’t believe us just go try it once, you can thank us later. And for those asking about what flies we’ve been using for the carp, here you go: At the start of the day there were one or two feeding off the surface so we spent a lot of time stalking those fish on some natural patterns. @fulling_mill ‘beetle hi-vis black foam’ was a winner under the trees and near any bushes, especially with the recent flying ant hatch. As well as their ‘deer hair emerger/hares ear’ fly which has been irresistible to trout recently and apparently carp too! (Both in size 14 or 12) But annoyingly carp love to feed off the bottom so after a couple of hours of painstaking stalking and trying to urge them to look up we switched tactics and tried a little bait on the surface. This switched the carp onto feeding off the top and again @fulling_mill have the flies for that! Our favourite being their ‘Close Copy Dog Biscuit’ Fly which worked a treat. The ‘Breadcrust’ for when you need to be able to see the fly easier and the ‘Bonio’ has always been a favourite for us. Honestly if you head to their carp selection of flies online each one is a winner! #carpfishing #flyfishing #fishing

And just like that we got ourselves a new PB! One of sure I’ll be chasing for a few more years! So blessed to have such great water practically at my door step! . . . #flyfishing #flyfish #flyfisherman #flyfishutah #troutfishing

Trout Snack Tuesday // Salmon Flies! Saw some of the first Salmon Flies of the year today, such a cool bug! The hatch has begun but don’t get too excited just yet. It will be another few days to a week before the trout begin to key in on these critters. The nymphs are migrating out of the swift water toward the shoreline, these bugs have poorly developed gills and need whitewater so there’s your tip. Fish the edges of the heavy stuff. @rioproducts #bigbugs #salmonflyhatch #yakimariver #dryflies #flyfishingjunky #flyfishingaddict
