Stretch it out! Having issues with adjusting and your power? Take a look at video of your swing from the side view like this. Do you see your hands drifting forward as your stride forward? If so? You’re losing the stretch that should happen. Similar to what happens when you stretch a rubberband, we want your hands to stay back as your body moves forward, to create potential energy 👉 Which then turns into kinetic energy 👉leading to max power output. If your hands drift forward you’ll also have a more difficult time stopping your swing when you don’t want to swing, and you’ll have a hard time adjusting to different pitches because you can’t get on plane early.

Goal of this video is to show the stretch, every player has one or needs one of some sort! - What happens when the front foot moves forward in our stride/load - We hold the back half and stretch forward with the front side At launch our hands and foot foot are as far apart as they will get in the swing, the upper half is loaded the lower half is loaded, from here we snap the rubber band and execute our swing! Let me know if you have any questions ⬇️⬇️

For hitters that start with their hands close to their body… MAKE SURE TO CREATE STRETCH! Without stretch you’ll have a handsy swing, preventing you from maximizing your power. Notice how as Anderson strides forward he’s stepping away from his hands. Keep in mind that your starting stance determines what your load and stride will look like. For example, if your bat starts flat, then in your load you need to work it more vertical. Hands start close you need to create a lot of separation.

This is Hypnotic 😍😍 Peep the triangle the hands, lead shoulder, and barrel make Peep how tight that triangle stays(sub 90) early in the swing and how quickly that angle gets to 180 right before contact What the hands truly do in the swing are isometrically hold this sub 90 angle as the force continues to grow from kinetic chain… Until the ball tells us to let it go Some pitches and timing may call to let it go earlier like when late and others may call to never let it go like when early Let the hips drive this force while the hands guide and control it

Are you creating that hand and hip separation as you stride forward? Are you getting to that solid launch position (heel plant?) Having a great launch position and separation within that is so crucial to maximize power and set your body up to be able to sequence correctly!

Launch position is when the front heel hits. While not every launch position in elite hitters is exactly the same, there are undeniable similarities amongst them. -Hands up and back, typically above the or just inside the back foot -Knob of the bat down and angled back some towards the catcher (knob not pointed at home plate yet) -front shoulder slightly lower than the back shoulder (back shoulder not dropped way down yet) -balanced (although we do see some hitters slightly more on their back side) -bend in their front knee -good base, distance between feet around half of their height There will always be anomalies as well. Something that is more unconventional may work for a hitter, but doesn't mean we intentionally teach the masses if only 1 or 2 hitters do it.

LEVERAGE STOP using your front arm to open the shoulders START using your front arm to screw into the ground You are naturally going to rotate your torso to throw the ball. What you need is more stability through the front side with both the upper and lower half. How does Trey Yesavage create vertical break? Matching his plane of rotation with his glove side and using that to screen into the ground. Understanding planes is important to understanding ball flight. A side arm guy won’t be using a top-to-bottom movement with the front side. An over-the-top guy shouldn’t be using a side-to-side glove arm path. Learn to leverage planes and get energy moving in the same direction.
