Sweet November at Fort Tryon Park NYC Fort Tryon Park in northern Manhattan is home to Manhattan’s largest dog run, complete with a gazebo for dog owners to sit and socialize, as well as two playgrounds, volleyball courts, and built-in ping pong tables. The pristine views of the Hudson River make the park the perfect setting for exploring, meandering strolls, and picnics. My favorite part of the park is the Billings Arcade (shown in the beginning of the Reel), the hidden remains of a spectacular mansion. While I love this city for the hustle and bustle sometimes I just want to get away. Briefly! Not live in the woods with no lights type of get away. I ain’t crazy! 🤣 Fort Tryon Park gave us the perfect reminder: even in the middle of hustle, slow moments matter. And we have to make the time for them. Many would argue im a proponent of grind culture (I would argue this too 🤣) yes I like the adrenaline rush. Sue me! But what I also think is important is to create a life where you can get away if you need/want even if the hustle is your thing. This walk with Nancie and Cindy turned into laughs, reflections, and views that felt like a deep inhale. Creativity, business, relationships… they all flow better when we take time to just be. The overgrown and derelict grand entrance gate of Fort Ricasoli—an enormous fortification from 1670, on the island of Malta. I’ve seen my fair share of forts & gates, but this was unprecedented. At my time of visit these parts were deserted, off-limits & not accessible. “What we do in life … echoes in eternity”, Maximus Meridius once said. So I pushed through, with the reward seeing and experiencing an old-world relic few ever see. Now we are free 🕊️
