Today I shut the door to my studio so I could wrestle with the dilemma of what to do with the things I had begun when I was confined in a smaller space. I have room to stretch out and contemplate how things can be moved, draped, turned back on themselves and then placed in a state of rest. I'm continuing to investigate the use of post consumer waste, specifically secondary packaging. In this composition I have included a found object, a ceramic vase which complements the form of the threaded circles. #art #artist #morningtonpeninsulaartist #sculpture #cardboard

The joy and pain of working with found objects, the finding, the choosing, the placing, the configuring, the storage, the disposal. It can seem deceptively simple when seeing the finished works, but the work that goes on to get to those finished pieces is real. Even when you decide the work is done, you are never quite sure if it’s worked, you just have to let it go. 3 March 2017. Marked the day the first tiny Roots of Round&Round Frames sprout at my 2nd Solo exhibition "Bleeding roots" @fried_contemporary gallery here in Pretoria. 10 years ago, I told my husband @duaglas I have this idea of making Round and Capsule artwork for a show... but where on earth would I get the frames for it? Well, the rest, as they say, is history. I am INCREDIBLY thankful for the path I'm on and the growing connections I get to make with amazing people.
