Objects objects objects 📦🫶🏼🍶

This may be one of my favorite sculptures of all time. The prompt was to collect found things and assemble them together into a sculpture called Assemblage. As an avid collector of things found, gifted and bought I had plenty to work with. I’ve always been a lover of the mystical and magical, Art Nouveau, romantic and unique items which once put together became this beautiful creation of things I enjoy. I call this sculpture “Memoirs of an Altar.” I implore you to take a close look at everything because everything in Memoirs of an Altar has a story, a story about me. I wanted to highlight one specific object in particular, the frame. My Great Grandmother Ruth was the original owner and it was passed down to me. The frame once housed a mirror that unfortunately broke in my teen years but I kept the frame in hopes of one day restoring it. I attempted to restore it a few times but for some reason the frame wanted to remain empty. I am very glad the frame has its purpose again and holds not just my reflection but things I hold close to my heart. ❤️ This is a very fun and interesting form of art, one I greatly enjoyed and will be creating again. ✨☀️Shine bright my friends ☀️✨
