Mr Mills’ Musings In the window of a well-loved clothes shop in Bath, a simple slogan is displayed: ‘There is nothing as modern as tradition.’ I was recently reminded of this while watching a group of Middle School boys and girls at break time, completely absorbed in a game of Four Square. With nothing more than a tennis ball and the markings on the ground, they rallied between quadrants using only their hands. It was a scene of pure, uncomplicated joy: no equipment to assemble, no screens to distract-just a timeless playground game, alive with laughter and energy. What struck me most was how absorbed everyone was. Scores of children took turns, encouraging one another and delighting in the shared experience. It felt, in that moment, like the most captivating game imaginable. The words from that Bath shop rang true. Tradition does not fade; it endures. The classics never really age.
