London’s chicken shop scene just levelled up. This is @fowlrestaurant , in St James and it comes from the masterminds behind @fallowrestaurant , one of the hardest places to get reservations at the moment. It’s just around the corner and it follows a similar philosophy with minimising waste in the kitchen. Basically using every bit of the chicken in the dishes. And you can see with a quick overview of our lunch what I mean. They aren’t afraid to show from top to toe where your dish has come from… We’ll start with the fried chicken wings which were, hand on heart, the best I have ever had in my life. The crunch, the flavour… it tops them all and I love the presentation. We then move onto the chicken leg corn dog, which is probably the hottest dish on the menu at the moment. Definitely the first time a chicken leg has replaced a corndog stick for this gal. It was delish. The corndog and the LE Grand Coq Pie are both from guest chef Pierre Koffman and yes, they are visually taking risks but as far as the tastebuds go, there are nothing but fireworks here. Also, please don’t leave without trying the Salt and Pepper corn coblets and the Chicken Skin Profiteroles. Get in now before the queues start. #londonrestaurants #chickenshop #londonfood #londonfoodie #fowl #bizarrefoods #eathere #whattodoinlondon

We couldn’t let #NationalChickenMonth end without showcasing our feathered friends at #HistoricOakView County Park! You can visit Oak View’s chickens in their coop, located beside the Tenant House. The park has two different breeds of chickens: Buff Orpington and Ameraucana. The Buff Orpington’s feathers tend to have a more buff or sandy gold color. Buff Orpingtons typically lay eggs that are medium size and brown in color. Oak View’s other two hens are Ameraucanas, the most evasive of the flock. Their feathers are predominantly brown with buff and black color mixed in. Ameraucanas typically lay medium-sized eggs, and the color is often various shades of blue. Historic Oak View is a 27-acre park located at 4028 Carya Drive in Raleigh. In addition to its beautiful birds, it features gardens, interpretive exhibits, trails, fishing, educational programs and more. Wakegov.com/parks

THE YEAR THE WORLD TURNED CHICKEN INTO A PERSONALITY TRAIT By Bridgett Nesbit The world was eating chicken in 2025 like it had something to prove. Not a polite nibble, not a “just a wing,” but a full‑on global commitment to the bird. By 2022, humanity had already crossed 132 million tons of chicken consumed, and every projection pointed to 2025 keeping that same chaotic energy. Countries weren’t slowing down — they were preheating ovens and acting brand‑new. China stayed in first place with more than 24,000 kilotons of chicken disappearing into daily meals. That’s not consumption; that’s choreography. The United States followed with over 18,000 kilotons, because Americans will turn anything into a combo meal and call it balance. Wings, tenders, thighs — nothing was safe. Brazil held steady in third with more than 10,000 kilotons, flipping drumsticks like carnival prizes. Russia and Mexico hovered just under 5,000 kilotons, proving everybody everywhere had the same idea: chicken goes with everything. And then there was Israel, clocking in at over 70 kilograms per person. That’s not eating — that’s a long‑term relationship with poultry. Add in India, Japan, South Africa, the U.K., and every nation that ever looked at a chicken with intent, and the math becomes undeniable. If it clucked, humanity cooked it.
