I either want to ride a normal bike for a full mtb experience or a full power E-bike to maximize laps! Total ground-up redesign for this one. When taking on the Trinity stuff over a year ago, it became clear that with a total ground up rebuild, a dedicated, un-compromised downhill specific bike could be created - this would require not 1 part to be re-used though and every pivot and reference point to be changed. It required me to become more intimate with kinematic theory, and to translate heuristics gathered from testing other current World Cup winning DH bikes on the market over the last year of testing. This is totally independently designed, colloquially termed the “DH-01”, as a nod to the Honda RN-01, being based around the Cassette in a Can. What resulted was: - 212mm travel, higher high pivot, more rearward axle path - Factory carbon floating brake arm, for a consistent 100% Anti-Rise throughout the whole travel range, so no pitching or squatting. - Proprietary leverage ratio for (way) more mid-stroke support and more supple-ness - Inverted shock pos to get the mass low and back. COM of the sprung body is almost an inch further back for more DH specific weight distribution - 17-7 / 17-4 aerospace Stainless Steel, proprietary WRP tubing spec, fab’d in-house by @archibaldcycles with billet lugs by @nsbillet. Made in Canada. - Built around WRP Cassette in a Can, which also doubles as a stressed frame member (like an engine on some motos) - Proprietary Instant Centre curve designed for steep and controlled descending - Emphasis on decreased pedal kickback and DH specific Anti-Squat curve and coefficients - Gates belt drive (or chain) 153.5mm axle - Grease nipples at every bearing junction - 220mm factory post mount and bearing mounted upper and lower shock pivots. - Massive shock tunnel for adaptability to the trend of larger shock architecture - particularly electronic shocks - Every bearing is now oversized - Plenty of trade-secrets Not here to take part.
