When toothbrush bristles are frayed, flattened, and splayed
3,566,539

When toothbrush bristles are frayed, flattened, and splayed in different directions, it usually means too much pressure is being applied. Dentists recommend gentle, circular motions with a soft bristle brush, because brushing harder doesn’t clean better—it can actually wear down enamel and irritate gums over time. A toothbrush that keeps its shape longer often reflects lighter pressure and proper technique. Most experts suggest replacing your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months, or sooner if the bristles are visibly worn. It’s a simple reminder that oral health isn’t about force—it’s about consistency, technique, and knowing that sometimes less pressure is more effective than scrubbing harder. #HistoryFacts #LearnOnInsta #ReelHistory

New year, new herbs. 🌿 Just kidding 😊 These are actually some of my all-time favorite and most trusted plants of over 29 years. 🙏🏻 And they match the energies of 2026 perfectly: 1. Milky Oat 🥛 If 2025 frayed people’s nerves, 2026 is when they finally feel it. I love this plant because it doesn’t override the body. It reminds it how to feel safe again. As my dad used to always say, “You don’t whip a tired horse. You feed it.” 2. Hawthorn 🫀 This is a lineage herb. It’s great for grieving old identities, relationships that are being redefined, and a heart that needs strength not armor as you step into fresh energies. 3. Red Raspberry 🍃 This herb says, “Your body knows what it’s doing. Let’s support it.” And especially for women, it restores confidence in the joys, natural rhythms, and cyclical living. 4. Lemon Balm 🍋 This is my favorite companion herb. 2026 calls for calm without numbness, and simple pleasures. It lifts the spirits, soothes digestion, and helps you feel like yourself again. 5. Burdock Root 🫚 Instead of extreme cleanses, 2026 calls for steady clearing. Heal a little every day. Don’t shock your system. I hope these help you as much as they’ve helped me. Here’s to an incredible, supportive and blossoming 2026! ✨ XO Jane #herbalism #herbalmedicine #herbsforhealth #plantmedicine #herbalist #2026 #healingjourney #herbalhealing #medicinalherbs #burdockroot #lemonbalm #smallbusinesssupportingsmallbusiness #smallbusinessowner #herbshop #wellnessjourney

When a bike brake or gear cable snaps near the terminal, you are often left with a frayed end too short to reach the standard clamp, rendering the system useless. This is the Mechanical-Braid Compression Splice, an ingenious field repair that uses a common nut or a small section of metal tubing to create a high-friction anchoring point on a shortened cable. The critical step is the loop-back friction lock. By threading the cable through a small nut, looping it back around the exterior, andpassing it through the nut a second time, you create a self-tightening cinch. When you apply tension to the brake lever, the cable strands are forced against each other and the internal walls of the nut, creating massive radial friction. This effectively "shortens" the required reach and provides a rock-solid grip that won't slip under the high-tensile loads required for safe braking or crisp shifting. agds required for safe bra [Video showing a frayed bike cable being looped through a nut to create a secure, high-tension emergency anchor] This transforms a snapped, "unfixable" cable into a functional mechanical link. It's a masterclass in frictional coefficient multiplication, proving that you can restore mechanical control by simply increasing the surface area of the cable's contact point. The post shares a 31-second tutorial video showing how to strip insulation from stranded copper wire, twist the frayed strands tightly using a pencil eraser for neat insertion into a terminal block, and secure with a screwdriver, contrasting incorrect loose methods marked with red X's. Quoting a "funny video" prompt, it humorously educates on proper wiring to avoid common DIY errors, resonating with Indonesian-speaking users in replies who express newfound understanding, amassing 882k views and 523 likes within hours. Proper strand twisting prevents arcing and overheating from loose connections, which NFPA reports contribute to 24,000 annual U.S. residential electrical fires causing 430 deaths and $1.2 billion in damage, highlighting the technique's role in enhancing safety.

CAT SCRATCH DAMAGE ➡️ RESTORED Part 2 ⚡ Severe seam fraying caused by repeated scratching. Instead of aggressive cutting or brushing (which can worsen the damage), we performed controlled fibre trimming and texture balancing to achieve a smoother, cleaner finish. When handled correctly, heavily frayed fabric can be significantly improved. As a stylist, I’m breaking down the chemistry. Here’s why these common “facts” are actually fiction: 1. Split End “Repair” The Reality: Hair is non-living tissue. Once the cortex splits, it cannot biologicaly fuse back together. Styling and styling products can bind the frayed ends, but they don’t “fix” the hair. Mechanical removal (a trim) is the only cure. 2. “Ammonia-Free” = Safer for hair The Reality: Both ammonia and ammonia-free formulas are alkaline colors that must raise the hair’s pH to work. “Ammonia-free” is a sensory choice for those who dislike the strong smell, it isn’t inherently “safer” for the hair fiber itself. If you have a sensitive scalp or allergies, switching to ammonia-free isn’t a guaranteed fix. You can still react to the substitute chemicals or the pigments themselves. A skin test is mandatory for first timers and recommended every 6 months if you are regular to color as well. 3. Protein is “Lamination,” Not a Cure The reality: Protein treatments don’t actually “fix” or regenerate damaged hair, they act like a temporary lamination filling in the gaps to make your hair feel manageable, but they aren’t a permanent cure for chemical damage. We have to look at your hair history and future goals first. If you overdo protein, your hair becomes too rigid and loses its stretch. This leads to “protein overload,” which makes your hair feel like straw over time. Most hair needs moisture, not more protein. Without balance, you’re just making your hair more brittle.
