3 simple breath-hold tips to increase your next breath hold. These are the same techniques I teach in my freediving classes to help students get more comfortable, more relaxed, and more aware of what’s happening during a breath hold. 1. Take a proper 3-part breath: diaphragm, chest, shoulders. Most people only use their chest. 2. Try dry breath holds without timing them. Focus on how your body feels instead of chasing a number. 3. Do a head-to-toe relaxation body scan. It helps you stay calm and focused. If you want the full breakdown of how to take that deep, effective breath the way I teach in class, comment #lung (yes, #lung, not just “lung”) and I’ll send you a free training video. dailyfreedivingadvice #freediving #spearfishing #apnea #diving #scuba #breathhold #yoga #breathwork #swimming #snorkeling #freedive #underwatertraining #oceanlife #waterman #deepbreath #lungtraining #breathcontrol #relaxation #mindfulmovement #aquatictraining #freedivinglife #trainhardbreatheeasy #holdyourbreath

Ever climbed a ladder underwater?🪜 This is probably one of the longest underwater ladders I’ve ever seen—it goes all the way down to the bottom of this dive pool. As a freediver, my life takes me to incredible places: training camps, competitions, workshops, and visits to freediving friends around the globe. Every dive spot has its own unique story and character—and this one definitely stands out. Wonder where I’ll dive next? ;) 📍@deepstation.kr 🎥 @dif_freediving . . #underwater #skills #freediving #korea

Training for World Championship is intense. This 8min bottom crawl 50meters, is just 30 seconds away from my personal best and I still had a minute in the tank I think. I’ll go for 9 minutes next 💪🧜♂️ 💬 Comment “coaching” to learn. #freediving #staticapnea #breathhold #apneatraining #apneaacademy #breathwork #apnée #freedive #worldchampion

@jordanblackfish Send this to the person you’ve always wanted to get into freediving — the one always saying their ears hurt👂 Note: If you don’t have water on you, or don’t want to spill it on yourself, skip step 1 and go straight to step 2 If you’re trying to learn Frenzel and nothing’s happening, try these troubleshooters: 1. Don’t exhale 💨 — if you’re feeling the water dribble out or feel your belly tensing, you’re probably pushing from your lungs. 2. Tongue + throat power 👅 — the pressure should come from sealing your throat and pushing your tongue up like a piston. 3. Soft palate stuck? 🤔 — try relaxing the upper back of your throat so the air pressure can reach your nose. ⚡️ Frenzel feels weird at first, but once it clicks, you’ll wonder how you ever did it any other way. Equalisation is a skill and a muscle you build. I’ve never seen someone who couldn’t equalise with dedication and practice. 🤝 The golden rule: never dive alone — always train with a buddy who knows their rescue skills. If you’re actually keen to progress, I always recommend doing a freediving course with a qualified instructor. If you’re an instructor, try this fun exercise with your students if they’re struggling with frenzel EQ 🤓 #freediving #equalisation #freedivingtips #diving #freedivingtraining

Freedive Breath Hold Secret 🫁 Do you know what causes our urge to breathe? It’s actually not a lack of oxygen 👀 Our urge to breathe primarily comes from rising carbon dioxide levels! So how do freedivers safely prolong their breath holds? 🧘♀️Relaxation is key - When we are relaxed, we actually conserve more oxygen and produce less carbon dioxide so our urge to breathe comes later. 🫁 Carbon dioxide adaptation - We can train our tolerance to carbon dioxide with breath hold training exercises. ➡️ NEVER practice breath holding activities in water alone, always with a trained buddy. MASTER YOUR KICK LET THE POWER FLOW ⚡ Most divers lose efficiency not because they lack strength, but because they lose alignment. When you over-bring the legs back, the lower back arches, the knees bend, and the wave breaks. Every unnecessary bend leaks energy and burns oxygen. ✅ The fix is simple: • Stay aligned with the hips that’s where the power starts. 🦵⬇️ • Lock the ankles and keep them relaxed but stable. 🔒👣 • Push the toes down and forward this will automatically trigger the hips and create a natural flow. 💥🏋️♂️ • Let the fins displace water in the right direction, not sideways. 🌊✅ When your movement is one clean line — hips → legs → ankles → fins — the body becomes a single wave of energy. 💫 Stay aligned. Stay fluid. Let the power flow. ⚡🌊 #Freediving #FinningTechnique #ApneaTraining #Freediver #UnderwaterFlow #Molchanovs #FreedivingTips #Efficiency #OceanTraining #LetThePowerFlow

Save this tip for later ⤵️ Welcome to Freedive Fixes! Today was our first day of freediving master training here in Dahab, Egypt — and this was the most valuable lesson we learned. It’s also one of the most common mistakes beginner freedivers make. Freedive Fix #1: When you do a bottom turn, do a forward roll before heading back up. DO NOT do a backbend turn. It’s an incredible habit to build early. If you roll backwards at depth, you can overstretch your chest and risk a lung squeeze. The forward roll helps your body change direction smoothly and protects your lungs as you turn to ascend. Follow us for more freediving tips and to follow our journey training here in Dahab, Egypt.

WHAT WENT WRONG⁉️ Video credit: @dj_markoni (Marco Nikolic) During a freediving static apnea competition, this diver pushes their limits but goes too far. He blacks out and loses consciousness underwater. The safety team springs into action, bringing him back to the surface and administering oxygen. This is stark reminder of why safety divers and proper protocols are essential in freediving. ⚠️ Don’t try this without proper training and safety divers. #Freediving #StaticApnea #Blackout #Hypoxia #SafetyFirst #FreedivingLife #Underwater #ApneaTraining #OxygenRescue #BreathHold #DiveSafe #Freediver #ExtremeSports #Apnea
