I don’t really talk about this much, but… I lost my friend without a conversation. There was no argument, no falling out. I think she just stopped liking me. And that’s been the hardest part to get my head around. Not the friendship ending, but the fact there was nothing to point to. Nothing to understand. Nothing to respond to. I kept going over it in my head for ages, wondering if I’d missed something. If I’d changed too much. If I’d said the wrong thing. Or if I’d just outgrown the version of me she was comfortable with. It’s strange how quiet it is when that happens. You just notice the replies slow down. The effort feels different. And one day you realise you’re the only one still trying. What really confuses me is this… When a relationship ends, there’s usually a conversation, right? Even an awkward one. Even a hard one. Some kind of moment where you both acknowledge it. Not having that leaves you holding all the questions on your own. I know this happens to so many people, but it doesn’t make it hurt less. Losing someone without closure makes you doubt yourself in ways you didn’t expect. If you’ve been through this too, you’re not silly for feeling unsettled by it.
