Last one is probably my personal favorite 🙌😉 “Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.” — Lao Tzu Game development is not easy, but with great creators like these it makes it much easier. And that's also why I love this industry so much. Looking back at my own journey, it were creators like these who helped me an awful lot! Especially creators like ThinMatrix, The Cherno, Sebastian Lague, Games from Scratch and many more (unfortunately some not being active anymore..). It's because of these people, sharing their knowledge for free, making many journeys possible. So, they deserve all the credit and appraisal. 😇 It's also because of these people I am doing what I do for years as well. Trying to share my enthusiasm for programming and making games. Sharing my journey. And hopefully helping some of you. And I am very much looking forward to continue doing so in the next year to come. 🙌 Stay tuned! 🤩 If the video was too fast for some of you, here the complete list of creators I shared in this video: ThinMatrix - Javidx9 - Sebastian Lague - Thomas Brush - Sunny Valley Studios - Smart Poly - Freya Holmer - Acerola - Pezzza's work - Zyger - Speed Tutor - Aarimous - Gamedev tv - Code Monkey - Unreal University - The Cherno And there are many more amazing creators. So feel free to share your favorites in the comments for others to know! 😇🙌 - - - - - - - - Besides that, I also like to share that these creators are true knowledge treasures, but practising yourself is what matters the most. Keep creating and try to make things on your own as well. That's the best way to get out of tutorial hell. 🫶 Happy coding everyone! 👨‍💻 Follow me for more programming and game development content! 👨‍💻🎮 ~@justinbieshaar . . 🏷️ #gamedev #gamedevelopment #gamesindustry #programming #indiegamedev

This is how I made my dress up game and how you can make your first web game with your own artwork too🪽 ✍🏻 1 Game Components Sketch your game and make all your assets. I like to be as precise as I can with my design and have everything ready to go, so I can have a clear direction once I get to development. 🧠 2 Game system and logic I input my game elements and sketch along with a description of what I want my game to be and ask Claude to “help me outline and plan how to develop this into a web game”. In this step, I typically look for - What key steps I have to consider to implement my game - Folder structure of how to best organize my files - Javascript outline of the game logic Once I get all the steps, I tackle one at a time and make a really rough prototype that has all the basic functions I need. 🎨 3 Game Art After I have a rough prototype, I drag all my artwork assets into the assets folder. Then, I use Claude code (I prefer their VScode plug-in) to just comb through the folder and reorganize everything for me, as well as add all my new assets to the existing prototype. ✨ 4 Micro Interactions Once I have the general prototype with my artwork, I ask Claude to help me implement fun little interactions like “drag and drop” or “parallax background”. My example prompts are: “How do I add a drag and drop feature on top of my click based control?” “Help me implement a parallax background based on my artwork in folder assets/background.” 💻 5 (Optional) Game Hosting Host my web game and share them with ppl <3 #ClaudePartner @claudeai

Devlog 4: Clean code doesn’t always equal good movement. 🛠️ In game development, there is a massive gap between a system that works and one that actually feels right (Game Feel). Even if your Character Controller script in Unity is perfectly structured in C#, the movement can still feel stiff. For my project, Sawmill Simulator, I’m focusing on these three pillars of polish to increase player retention: Input Smoothing for more natural responsiveness. Acceleration and Deceleration to give the character physical weight. Soft Camera Motion to prevent jarring movements and maintain immersion. Getting this "feel" right is what separates a functional indie game from a great one. Are you focusing on the code logic or the player's feel first?
