Boiler servicing is good and you should all get your boilers serviced. Cause sometimes things break a bit. In this case it’s leaking products of combustion back in to the casing. Carbon monoxide, dioxide and water all getting amongst it inside your boiler. That’s not good. A basic combustion check from the people in the blue vans wouldn’t pick this sort of thing up. Different animal than pressure-atomized systems, where oil pressure does the work instead. Two types of oil fire. Two very different designs. Miss that detail and you’re already behind. That remote air compressor matters too intake filter, motor, pistons, cooling loop, and a lubrication tank keeping everything alive. No oil in that sump, no cooling, no mercy. It seizes, you’re done.
