Tonight’s pick up. This will be my second attempt at a copperband butterfly. My first one was great. Zero problems until my purple tang became an ass and unalived it along with a few other fishes. That tang is gone. I hope I can get this one eating. It will be in the QT for a month. Let’s see how it goes

I always get asked how I keep my copperbands so fat and healthy. For me, the answer is scallop. They seem to be drawn to the scent of it. IMO acquiring a healthy specimen is the most important thing, but training them onto meatier foods is essential for long-term survival. Once you get them eating brine and picking at mysis, try smashing some scallop into masstick and pressing onto to rocks. Once they start eating this, they will usually come to your hand to eat, and will eventually be one of the most aggressive eaters in your tank eating everything from the water column.
