Gilbertson’s General Store, a place known for its mix of merchandise, the bar in the back, its joke-cracking 85-year-old owner — and, yes, the outhouses — is holding its final day of business on Oct. 31. 😢 Kenny Gilbertson welcomed us in recently into a store and bar that’s become a defining characteristic of Keyeser near DeForest on County Road C. The family-run business has celebrated 100 years, then 125 years and now the 130th final year at a spot that serves as a time capsule as well as a community space.
