What a fab hot springs pool and splash park! [Glenwood Hot Springs, Glenwood Springs, Colorado] Have you ever tubed along a “rapids river” with warm water?! Or played in a warm splash pad, warm kiddie water slides and warm pool with diving board? I hadn’t until visiting here. We loved it! If you’re not sure what to do Labor Day weekend, consider driving ~5 hours to this spot from Utah (and add on all the other fun things to do in the cute outdoorsy town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado). This is our favorite hot springs 👌🏼 Right off the road outside of Glenwood Springs, Colorado you can soak into multiple different temperature pools next to a rushing river. It’s the perfect place to do some natural hot cold therapy. You’re surrounded by mountains and get to watch the big horn sheep come down to graze. Swimsuits are optional hence the “hippie dip”. Glenwood Springs is famously known for their hot springs, but after some white-water adventure 🛶 we took a stroll into town and found some incredible gems! 🍔 LUNCH AT @grind.co This place grinds meat in-house to guarantee the freshly burger you’ll ever have. We ordered the 7 SXSW burger that had buffalo, lettuce, pico, jalapenos, avocado mash chipotle mayo, pepperjack and the WILL CODY that had buffalo, fried jalapenos bacon, KC bbq. Would definitely visit again! 🍨 DESSERT at @sundae.artisan.icecream After speaking to some locals, we were suggested to try out Sundae. Imagine being in the heart of a small town in the mountains, having some of the best ice cream you’ve ever tried, in 70 degree weather. Glenwood Springs in Colorado was one of our favorite trips this summer and it is only 5.5 hours from SLC! 🙌 We visited @glenwoodhotsprings where we spent the day swimming in the world’s largest hot spring pool! Next to the pool they have Sopris splash zone which has zero entry pools with small water slides, a splash pad and Shoshone Chutes-a fun river ride! We spent a whole day here and would definitely recommend visiting! We visited @glenwoodcaverns adventure park! You’ll ride a gondola to the top of this mountainside theme park and ride thrill rides over the canyon!😱 We loved the rides, the cave tours and the giant sandbox for the littles! If you’re looking for an easy hike with kids check out the Doc Holliday hike or if you’re up for a challenge don’t miss the hanging lake hike to some beautiful waterfalls! Trail permits and reservations are required for the hanging lake hike and can be purchased online. For food we loved Slope & Hatch, Rocky Mountain Pizza, Ming’s Cafe and ice cream from Sundae!🤤 Have you been to Glenwood Springs? What would you add to our list of recommendations? Winter weekend itinerary for Glenwood Springs, Colorado: 1. Rifle Falls State Park- we did the Coyote trail around and behind the falls. 2. Ice caves- This is the Kopers Trail in Rifle Mountain Park near Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Spikes on your shoes are necessary for this hike! 3. Glenwood Hot Spring Pool- This is a natural hot spring with lots of minerals. It costs $32 for a day pass, but they do allow re-entry. 4. Get ramen from Kedai Pho and Japanese Cuisine 5. Vegan chocolate truffles from the Chocolate Moose. I also wanted to visit the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and hike to Hanging Lake, but we didn’t have time.
