The world’s biggest college hackathon is TODAY—Calhacks, and I had no team, no idea, nothing. So I did what any sane person would do: formed a random team at the venue. Four strangers. All first-time hackers. I pitched this idea rotting in my notes app forever. Waited for the awkward silence. Instead? Everyone loved it. Suddenly we’re actually building something cool. Here’s the thing—I’d been to hackathons before. But I was always the “networking and free-swag hoarder.” You know, vibes only. This time? Code editor open. Actual agent frameworks loading. My impostor syndrome suddenly gone. First night: We decided specs and spun up MVP skeletons over too much Matcha (the real hackathon MVP). By 3 AM, my brain was running on caffeine and delusion.
