Google just launched an AI tool that lets anyone design a complete app with just a prompt. If you're a UI/UX designer, you need to rethink everything. The AI tool is called stitch and you can literally type something like "build me a swiggy-type food delivery app but for ghar ka khaana," and it generates the screens, the layout, the interactions, all of it in one shot.

👩‍💻🎨 Ever wondered how I became a product designer at Google? The journey hasn’t been easy, but it was worth it! Here are my takeaways & what I’d tell my younger self 👇👇👇👇 1️⃣ It does not matter how you became a designer Designers come from varied backgrounds and their journey is never linear. Some are self taught, some do bootcamps while others go to design school - and ultimately, we end up in the same place! Your experience, skills and personality are what will get you that job! 2️⃣ Don’t rely on your job to make you a better designer NEVER. STOP. LEARNING. Your job probably pays the bills, but you’re usually constrained by the scope of your work, your team & internal processes! Always remain curious, keep an eye out on industry & design trends, learn from other designers & and take time out weekly to work on skills you feel are lacking and are not improving! 3️⃣ Good design skills do not translate to good interviewing skills Pro tip if you didn’t know it - Interviews test you, and not necessarily your skills. You need to learn to play the game and if you’re an introvert like me, it can be a nightmare! Look up common design interview questions and have answers ready, define a whiteboarding structure to use & practice with design challenges & outline key UX issues you see in popular apps 4️⃣ Take what you can get This is specifically for anyone starting out. The ultimate chicken & egg problem in design is that you need experience to gain experience. My advice to you would be to not be picky & to get ANY UX experience when you start out - internships, freelancing, contract roles, part-time roles.
