(9years in office) ✅️ He established 12 Unity Schools to complement the 3 initially set up by the British colonialists, ensuring each state had a school. His goal was to unite children from diverse backgrounds, provide quality education, and strengthen Nigeria’s future through national unity and integration. A group of schools of which I benefitted from. ✅️ In 1973, General Gowon founded the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to promote national unity and reconciliation after the Nigerian Civil War, fostering stronger ties among Nigerian youths and preserving Nigeria as a united nation.
