I have been living alone since I was 20 years old, and for the past six years, I have managed everything in my life on my own without any emotional, mental, or financial support. Living alone in an unknown city is incredibly challenging, you have to handle everything by yourself, from going to the office to cooking, managing the house, and taking care of every responsibility. Whatever I am today is because of my own efforts and the grace of God. It is God who gave me the strength and taught me how to handle every situation in life. By Grace Alone Salvation is only by God’s grace. His free, undeserved gift. Yet our flesh, driven by pride, always looks for a reason to boast, to prove itself worthy, or to try to earn it. Many say they believe the gospel, but then they add to the finished work of Christ. They cannot truly believe that Christ died for all sin and they are completely forgiven by what He did, apart from their own efforts. They point to their works, their performance, or their behavior as the reason they’ll enter heaven, instead of resting fully in what Jesus has done. If it’s not completely by grace and faith, then it is of works and you have a place to boast before God: “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
