Are there any sports you think could beat gymnasts? #gymnastics #hanging #sports #gym #unevenbars

Level 9 is next level… And about 4% of gymnasts make it to Level 10… These numbers aren’t perfect, but how many level 10s are at your gym? Most clubs have 1-2, maybe 3-4, or if you’re at a big elite club you may have 10+ but that’s an exception to the rule (and people move across the country to train there). And yet, how many times have you been asked this about your kid by non-gymnast friends and family members? “Are they going to the Olympics?!” 🏅🏅 The sport of gymnastics is SO TOUGH👀. Your gymnast can put in hours, miss out on a lot of life, suffer through pain, etc and still not reach her big goals and dreams. And most drop out by 14-16 years old if not sooner… Why? Often unintentional underfueling, which leads to... A. Injuries B. Training Struggles, Burnout C. All of the above The good news is that “unintentional underfueling” is 100% fixable, you just hope it’s not too late for your gymnast. And this is VERY different than “just feeding her healthfully”. But, at the end of the day, regardless of how far your gymnast goes in the sport... They learn life skills like discipline, dedication, overcoming fear, work ethic...the list is endless. I talk a lot about getting gymnasts involved in the kitchen at a young age because being able to prepare your own meals is a life skill that transcends this sport. 📈 ✨How awesome would it be for your gymnast to make their own balanced breakfast? ✨To know how to build their meals and snacks, whenever with whatever, so you’re not stressing over whether or not they make “healthy” choices? ✨Especially during summer when schedules are wacky, kids are home more, and it feels like all you’re doing is making meals and cleaning up, times 10! ✨A kid you can trust to fuel themselves with all the food groups...isn’t that unicorn territory? 🦄🦄 If you want to learn HOW to fuel your gymnast and help them unlock that next level of performance that you KNOW they’re capable of… We start in a month (and then that’s it until late summer !) ⏰ Comment “VIP” to chat about The Balanced Gymnast® Program which is how we work 1:1 with optional and upper level gymnasts 🩷 https://christinaandersonrdn.com/program/

At the Sydney 2000 Olympics, the world watched in confusion and horror as some of the most elite gymnasts repeatedly crashed during the women’s vault competition. Athletes who had trained their entire lives for this moment were missing their marks, with some failing to even touch the vault with their hands. Initially, the unprecedented string of dangerous falls was blamed on “Olympic nerves” and the immense pressure of the games. But as the crashes continued, it became clear that this wasn’t a collective mental block—something was fundamentally wrong with the equipment. The mystery was finally solved when a 16-year-old gymnast noticed the apparatus felt unusually low. When officials finally measured the equipment, they found it was set at exactly 120 cm. While this perfectly matched the rulebook they were holding, the rulebook itself was flawed. Two years prior, the official Olympic vault height had been raised, but a devastating printing error had completely erased the updated measurement from the manual used by the setup crew. The consequences of this administrative oversight were heartbreaking. By the time the mistake was identified and corrected, 18 athletes had already competed on the incorrectly set vault. Several gymnasts sustained injuries from their unnatural falls, abruptly ending their Olympic journeys through no fault of their own. It remains one of the most infamous technical failures in sports history, a stark reminder of how a tiny bureaucratic error can alter the course of an athlete’s life forever. #Sydney2000 #OlympicHistory #Gymnastics #VaultControversy #SportsHistory

One of the most common mistakes that leads to a difficulty not being validated is an incomplete club rotation. If the club doesn’t make a full 360° rotation, the difficulty is not counted. This difficulty is very common, and this mistake is also very common among gymnasts, because from the floor it’s very hard to notice that the club hasn’t completed the full 360°. We explained everything in the video — use it as a guide. Follow for more ❤️

Follow @poweredbybia for more women’s sports and inspiration 💪✨ At the 2012 London Olympics, two gymnasts displayed technical perfection on vault — but McKayla Maroney redefined what perfect meant. 🔥🤸♀️ Her Amanar vault wasn’t just clean… it was historic. The power, height, form, and landing set a new standard for women’s gymnastics that’s still talked about today. 🥇✨ Alongside her, Kohei Uchimura delivered elite execution and deserves respect as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. 👏 Same event. Same skill. One vault became legendary. 💾 Save this to remember when women changed the sport 🔁 Share with someone who loves Olympic greatness #McKaylaMaroney #WomensGymnastics #OlympicMoments #London2012 #WomenInSports #GymnasticsHistory #AmanarVault #FemaleAthletes #OlympicGreatness #SportsInspiration
