Some causes: - heat damage - damage from tension - product or oil build up from improper or infrequent cleansing, dehydrated strands, - etc Some solutions: - detoxing or clarifying your hair if you have product or oil buildup on your strands. - Bonding treatments and deeply hydrating masks to combat heat or tension damage. - deep conditioning with steam and heat and then styling with A LOT of warm water when defining curls. - Finger coiling to get better definition or more uniform definition. - styling with more gel towards your roots for more uniform definition (if you don’t mind stronger hold gels or using gels in general) These are just some causes and solutions. 🎀Tips for nightly curly hair maintenance: One of the factors which contribute to having a long lasting wash n go is how you maintain your curls before bed / while you sleep! Everyone’s routine is different but here’s mine: 🎀 Styling Routine - This is the first step you should have down pack as this is the base that determines how long / well your curls will hold - Your curls should not be frizzy / undefined on day 1 of styling (if so your wash n go will most likely not last long throughout the week) 🎀Wrapping your hair - I use a satin bonnet regularly - If I want more volume the next day, I wrap my hair in a silk scarf first then put the satin bonnet over it - Wrapping your hair reduces friction while you toss and turn which will reduce frizz 🎀 Using satin pillow cases - This reduces friction which reduces frizz, tangles and breakage in the event my bonnet comes off overnight - Using a satin pillowcase has also been great for my skin :) 🎀 Manipulation - As you see in the video, I always make sure I coat my hands with some oil before manipulating and separating any clumps to not cause any frizz - I also try to not overly fluff out and manipulate my hair within the first 1-3 days to keep my curls in tact for a longer period of time 🎀 Product used - Elixir Essentials Hair and Scalp Oil @auntjackiescurlsandcoils @auntjackies.africa - Earth Star Patches @starface #curlyhair #hair #curls #curlygirl #hairmaintenance #nightroutine #maintenance #routine #bonnet #haircare #naturalhair #explorepage
