I was a big believer in public schools until my kids started hating school and begging not to go. Both my husband and I were public school kids. That’s what we wanted for our kids… My oldest daughter said, “But Mom, at school we do all the things you say aren’t good for us…. We don’t go outside much, we don’t eat good food, we don’t move our bodies enough, and we spend a lot of time on screens.” Man, what a smart girl to point out that school was working against all of the things I was trying to teach at home! 🥹 Happy to report that after pulling my kids out of school they are happier, they have no anxiety, and their confidence is higher.
