This was another of his later life cameo roles where he got to rest on his theatrical laurels and camp it up a bit. The experience inspired me to make and create bread, and I always wanted to do it for a living. Happy heavenly birthday to our favourite Knight of the realm, Sir John Gielgud. His long career maybe have been peerless but off stage he was famous for his somewhat acerbic wit and also his terrible gaffes. On being invited to celebrate his 90th birthday at the House of Commons with MPs Glenda Jackson and Gyles Brandreth he declared “Yes, I would be delighted to join them.
