Additional Mileage can be added on 🗺️ Hocking Hills State Park 📍Rockbridge State Park- Ohio’s largest natural rock bridge with a seasonal waterfall. 2.7 miles round trip 📍Ash Cave - Ada accessible and an easy hike in .5 miles 🗺️ Hocking Hills State Park 📍Chapel Cave - also known as 21 Horses Cave hike and repel area 🧗‍♂️about a 2-mile round trip you want regret, horse 🐎 friendly bridle trails as well. 🗺️ Hocking Hills State Forest 📍Conkles Hollow - Upper rim trail, might be the prettiest fall hike in HH. There’s also a 1.2-mile Gorge Trail Below. 🗺️ Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve 📍Rockhouse -a unique, tunnel-like cave formed in Blackhand sandstone, known as the park’s only “true cave,” featuring a 200-foot-long corridor with 25-foot-high ceilings and gothic-like windows. 1.2-mile loop 🗺️ Hocking Hills State Park 📍Cedar Falls - might be one of the prettiest falls in HH. It’s a short downhill with a lot of steps into the gorge and there’s plenty of long hikes that link up to it! 🗺️ Hocking Hills State Park 📍Whispering Cave - might be the most underrated cave in HH about 1-mile from The State Park Resort 🗺️ Hocking Hills State Park 📍Ash Cave Fire Tower - This is the shortest hike at 550’ but the views are worth it! 80-foot Aermotor tower with a 7x7 foot metal cab, built in 1934 🗺️ Hocking Hills State Park 📍Cantwell Cliffs - Often considered the most difficult trail in the park, featuring steep climbs, rock shelters, and narrow passageways. Expect deep valleys carved by Buck Run, large rock formations, and unique spots like the narrow “Fat Woman’s Squeeze” Upper loop is easier. With miles of trails to explore along with cascading waterfalls a visit to this scenic park is a must! Here are three of our favorite hikes: 🌳Ash Cave: There are a few different hikes you can take here. The easiest being the handicap accessible gorge trail. The upper rim trail is a 1/2 mile long; the gorge trail is 1/4 mile long. 🌳Old Man’s Cave: The most popular trails in the park are at Old Man’s Cave. Visitors can hike to the Upper and Lower Falls, see Old Mans Cave and the Devil’s Bathtub. 🌳The Rock House: The Rock House is one of the most unique hikes in Hocking Hills, Ohio. A tunnel-like cave in the cliffside lures hikers inside by offering incredible views out of its natural rocky windows. The whole area has incredible geology, which makes for fantastic hiking and exploring. 🥾There are so many trails and hikes to go on, but these would be my top 10 in the area. • Whispering Cave Hocking Hills State Park (HHSP} • Ash Cave (HHSP) • Conkles Hollow Nature Preserve Gorge Trail • Rock House (HHSP) • Tabletop Rock in Hocking State Forest • Cedar Falls (HHSP) • Rockbridge Nature Preserve • Upper Falls via the Buckeye Trail (HHSP) • Old Man’s Cave & Lower Falls (HHSP) • Moonville Tunnel in Zaleski State Forest 👉🏼All of these can be found using the free @alltrails app which provides GPS directions, photos, trail, maps reviews, etc. 🗺️ Hocking Hills State Park is fantastic but it gets busy.
