Industrial pollution, construction dust, and burning of crop stubble in nearby states like Punjab and Haryana also significantly increase pollution levels. During winter, low wind speed and temperature inversion prevent pollutants from dispersing, leading to thick smog covering the city. High AQI levels have serious health impacts on Delhi’s population.
