ad the amount SHOCKED ME 🙈 Day 3 of deep cleaning and decluttering my entire home so I can live in peace. Here are some kitchen cleaning hacks I always use while decluttering: ✨Dusty crockery: I wipe shelves before anything goes back, then give the plates and bowls a quick microfibre wipe! No rewashing needed ✨Crumbs in drawers and cupboards get brushed out with a dry pastry brush or clean paintbrush (way better than a cloth!) ✨For crumbs and dust around oven edges, I wrap a napkin around the tip of a butter knife to get right into the gaps ✨Linkng drawers or shelves with simple liners makes future clean-ups quicker ✨Fewer items in cupboards = less to wipe, less dust, and faster resets! I hope this helps! ☺️ We bought and designed this kitchen with @wren five years ago and I still love it just as much now as I did then. The functional space, the layout… it really is the heart of our home. What I’ve learned is that good designs supports everyday life, but it doesn’t need to be filled to the brim to work well. If there’s one tip I always share with my clients, it’s this: Return everything in your home, home. It might sound simple, but it truly changes everything. When things go back where they belong, your space stays tidy longer, it’s easier to find what you need, and your mind feels so much calmer. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about creating little habits that make life feel lighter.

When I started this process I was worried I wouldn’t have enough to declutter to meet my goal of the challenge of 1 box per week. I was WAY wrong! I have decluttered at least double that from my house , and I’m not done yet! Decluttering your home can be so overwhelming. I tried to declutter our home so many times over the years and ended up barely making progress and quitting every time. Mostly because of how overwhelmed I would get. It wasn’t until I started breaking down my decluttering to small spaces that I started making progress, seeing the huge difference, and leaning into that motivation to keep up with decluttering. I have worked through a few rooms in our house, one small space at a time. I do one drawer, one cabinet, or one shelf at a time so I don’t get overwhelmed. And I get motivation from seeing the results quickly and being able to appreciate that space being so much more functional, with an actual home for everything! My goal is to get our home decluttered well and then start working on refining our home management systems. I firmly believe once your home is in a state where everything has a home, it’s so much easier to maintain your home. Cleaning becomes so much easier and faster. Instead of being in a constant state of catching up or doing just enough to get by, I want to have systems in place that keep me on pace so I know I will have a time to do everything. I have two more rooms I’m hoping to wrap up before I really dive into working on my home systems. I will continue to declutter, because I don’t think decluttering every truly ends. We’re always bringing new things into our home and finding things we no longer need. But my hope is that the decluttering will be easier and faster because it’s more maintenance than a complete overhall. And I will also have good systems in place to constantly be tidying the areas that I have decluttered. Not going to lie, it was tough A really long three months, and in many ways it’s still ongoing. It took a lot of time and patience. Late nights too. Moments where it felt never-ending.
