Gen Z isn’t lazy. The math just stopped mathing 📉 Housing used to cost about 3x your income. Now it’s closer to 6x. Add student debt, inflation, and a brutal job market, and “just work harder” stops being advice. The real advantage today is learning how to budget, invest, and actually sell yourself for jobs before you fall behind.

Here’s what I’d tell my younger self… 1️⃣ Automate Your Investing You don’t need thousands to start. Getting into the habit of investing regularly, even small amounts; is the ultimate cheat code. Compound interest is incredibly powerful, and the earlier you start, the faster your money does the heavy lifting for you.
 2️⃣ Budget Like a Business Whether you make £30,000 or £300,000, it doesn’t matter. It’s not about how much you make; it’s about how much you keep.  3️⃣ Start a “Low-Friction” Side Hustle In the current economy, relying on one income stream is risky. A side hustle is needed to get ahead, but it doesn’t have to take 20 hours a week. The best side hustle right now? Bank switching. It’s literal free cash for moving your direct debits, and anyone can do it.
 4️⃣ Empty Your Current Account Never, EVER leave your wealth sitting in a standard current account. You are actively losing purchasing power to inflation. Keep your emergency fund in a High-Yield Savings Account so your money is actually working for you while you sleep.

They: • invest in skills • invest in mentorship • invest in systems • invest in education They treat learning like an income-producing asset. 3️⃣ They Prioritize Asset Building Over Income Only Income pays bills. Assets build wealth. If you’re making $240k a year and you still have to budget to have something leftover to save/invest…that’s clearly not financial freedom!! Most people are taught to optimize for the next job and the next raise…that’s useful, but it’s short-term thinking and it doesn’t build long term wealth!! The real shift is going from optimizing for salary to optimizing for leverage. Long-term leverage comes from what compounds across your entire career: skills you can reuse, relationships you can call on, and assets that keep working even when you’re not.
