Comment “COMICS” and I’ll DM you my list of steps for making your own comic! 🖤✌🏻 Here’s how to make your own comic from start to finish: 🖊️📕🔥 1. Research as much as you can about writing & creating comics. A great place to start is with the DC Comics Guide to Creating Comics which covers all the basics to get you started 📖 ✔️ 2. Plan out your story including your genre, themes, and characters 🧙🏻♂️🧟♂️🧚 3. Write an outline (this includes planning out the events & important details for both the overall series arc and smaller story & character arcs) ⚔️ 📈 4. Write a script, splitting everything up into pages & panels for each book and adding in dialogue 5. Make a cover & a logo whether you draw them yourself or hire an artist to create them 6. Draw all of your pages (personally I use @clipstudiopaint for this) 7. Add dialogue (I use the CJoeKubert font) 8. Export the pages at 300DPI & find a good printer - I always use & always recommend @mixamprint - their quality is always insane (i’m really picky when it comes to contrast & colours, & they literally print it exactly the way it looks when you draw it which is incredible) & their website is super easy to use. Since the printing process is super stressful so this is huge - you can just choose ‘comic’ or ‘graphic novel’ and enter all your options (I did perfect binding with a 100lb matte cover and 80lb satin interior pages) 9. You can also launch a Kickstarter to try to raise funding for printing costs etc but otherwise wait for your books to come in & you officially have made a comic! 🖤⚔️📖✔️ If you have any questions lmk, I’ll be doing a whole series of tutorials on each individual step of the process over the next few weeks! #fyp #art #artist #reels #manga #mangaartist #comic #comicartist #comics #digitalart #anime #animeart #animeartist #drawing #draw #webcomic #mixam @mixamprint

I love writing comics. I hate formatting scripts. Except that’s not true, cause I dig it now, cause it’s easy. Yay templates! Download my comic script template on my blog (bink in lio)👽 Did I mention it costs exactly zero dollars? That’s kinda neat. ✌️💕 #writingtip #writingadvice #writersofinstagram #comics #comicwriter

How to write a book👇 1. The idea - use Pinterest or writing prompts to get you that one idea - this is the premise your book will be based off of - it doesn’t have to be a completed story yet, just one idea and it could be anything 2. Starting - some people like to plan their plot, others like to just start writing and see what happens - either way works well - if you like plotting then try to write down everything you want to happen but remember that this can always change; you are not bound by your plan 3. Decide the voice - whose perspective are you telling this story from? This will affect how you write - try to write within the personality of this person - or if it’s a third person narrator make sure it’s clear who the main character(s) are - the reader follows this person through their journey 4. The catalyst - an event that occurs near the beginning of the book that sets off the whole chain of events which leads your main character(s) to the climax - maybe it’s the declaration of a goal they want to achieve, maybe someone has been captured and they have to rescue them - make sure something happens within the first two chapters that furthers the story 5. The climax - this is the most important moment in your book - it is what everything leads up to and everything that happens after stems from it - this can be a death or a battle or a realisation - think about how you get to it from the catalyst - what challenges your characters might face, what relationships might be formed - this journey should not be linear - there should be set backs and side quests 6. Character development and subplots - these are the secondary parts of your book after the main plot but equally as important - make sure your characters have multiple ties to others and your subplots are well integrated; don’t make them separate from the main plot and make sure they contribute to the conclusion This is your first draft, don’t worry about editing as you go, just write - eventually it will feel natural 📚 #becausepeopledie #writing #writer #writingcommunity #writersofinstagram #bookstagram #accountsunder1k #author #creativewriting #reading #books #book #booksta #fypage

Quick rundown of what I’ve been up to the past 3 months! This is the first time I am doing a Webtoon, so it will probably be far from perfect. But hey— I am here to learn!🫡😞 I am aiming to do 4 seasons with 5 episodes each!! (I’ll split the episodes on Webtoon though, since they are are rather long) For the release: I was originally aiming for March, but with that big of a workload and college starting again, I have no other choice than to postpone it to April! Let’s see how this will turn out! Either way… I am taking this as a opportunity to learn more about composition and storytelling :)) Thanks for sticking around! #comic #occomic #animeartist #oc #sketchbook #mangaka #comicartist #comicart #manga #ocmanga

Here's a few tips that helped me streamline my comic making process. 1. Keep a Notes app/notebook 📒 I don't know about you guys but I get ideas for artwork/my comics at the most inconvenient times. My best ideas always come when I'm away from my desk. Keeping notes on my phone has really helped me work on my story wherever I am. It's been a great tool to jot down story beats, dialogue, jokes, and other ideas that I can take right into my comic. 2. Become familiar with your medium🖍️ Making comics already takes a lot of decision-making and time so the last thing you want to be doing is fiddling around with something new. Don't get me wrong trying new things as an artist is one of my favourite things to do but when it comes to getting your project off of the ground it really helps to know your medium well. Knowing my workflow in Clip Studio really helped me streamline my creation process which allowed me to pump out pages at a faster pace. If you're trying a new medium/software don't be afraid to experiment with it before you get started, it might help you out in the long run. 3. Plan ‼️ Now I might be contradicting myself with this one as I do tend to improvise a lot while I write but I do genuinely believe that having somewhat of a rough plan in place will help you out tremendously. Storyboarding, playing with layouts, and writing out scripts/ideas are all very helpful tools when it comes to storytelling. All of these things can help you plan "the page turn" for suspense, adhere to a page count, and vary your shot/panel types. Creating a narrative with a plan is a lot easier than constructing one out of thin air. Excited to share my next story with you all soon. Have a great day. - - - #makingcomics #comics #art
