Harvey Norman isn’t just one of our talented professional work placements at Hyde Hall – he’s also a  pilot. Recently, Harvey took to the skies from Southend Airport for a spectacular bird’s-eye view of RHS Glow. Harvey said: "Ever since gaining my night licence last year, I’ve dreamed of flying over Hyde Hall.” So when weather conditions allowed he took off and headed straight for the garden. “Before long, I was treated to a breathtaking multicoloured Glow display from above. The illuminated oak tree on the hill really stole the show, along with the Clover Hill lights and the shimmering fountain on the Top Pond. And Millennium Avenue? It looked like it could double as a runway! Seeing Glow from this unique perspective was incredible – an unforgettable flight." ✨ What a way to experience Glow!

Hyde Hall Covered Bridge can be found tucked away in Glimmerglass State Park in Cooperstown, NY. Dating back to 1825, it is now open to pedestrians, but once was part of the private drive leading up to the Hyde Hall Mansion. Last night we wrapped up warm and headed to RHS Hyde Hall for their RHS Glow event. Having been in two minds as to whether or not to go due to mixed reviews from previous years, I’m so glad we went. It was absolutely beautiful. With lots of different light installations and light shows to music, it was a great event to kick start the festive season and help get us in a Christmassy mood. The hot chocolate, doughnuts and apple and cinnamon crumble went down a treat too, why do they always taste so much better around Christmas time?
