@Katie.foot.health.practioner @beeingactiveiseasy I was so ready. TOO ready, after seeing this video to challenge it. Send it to @rudahealing because I’m going to prove just how easy, effortless and anyone could do this right?! HAHAHA NO. I send this video to her and realize I look like a Betty Spaghetti doll and ya girl is humbled back to accepting all her hypermobility EDS brings. OOOoo if life will do anything, it will humble you. #HEDS #hypermobile #funny #fyp

Something big is happening for the hypermobility community.

Something big is happening for the hypermobility community. For the first time since 2017, the diagnostic criteria for Ehlers Danlos syndromes and hypermobility spectrum disorders are being updated. The new global criteria will be published December 1, 2026. That might sound like something that only matters to doctors or researchers, but it actually matters a lot for people like us. Because many people in this community are not just dealing with one condition. A lot of us are dealing with what people often call the trifecta POTS MCAS and hypermobile EDS. These conditions show up together in the same people all the time in this community. Your connective tissue affects your blood vessels. Your blood vessels affect your autonomic nervous system. And your immune system interacts with all of it. Which is why so many people with hypermobility also end up dealing with things like POTS mast cell issues dizziness tachycardia GI problems joint instability chronic fatigue For a long time, a lot of patients have been told these things were unrelated or just random symptoms. But patients and researchers have been noticing these patterns for years. Updates like this matter because diagnostic criteria shape how doctors recognize these conditions. And when doctors recognize them sooner, people get answers sooner. People get taken seriously sooner. And hopefully fewer people spend years being dismissed while trying to figure out what is happening in their body. This new framework will replace the current criteria from 2017 and is based on years of international research, collaboration, and patient experience. So this could be a really important step forward for the hypermobility and dysautonomia community. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this as more information comes out. This is really exciting for our community that has been navigating all of this for so long 🩵 #hypermobile #hypermobility #heds #eds #pots

Connective tissue supports, protects, and holds the body together, and collagen is its primary component. In hypermobile Ehlers‑Danlos syndrome and hypermobility spectrum disorders, genetic changes affect the structure and function of collagen, meaning our connective tissue is literally built differently. That difference helps explain why certain injuries may be considered rare, but could be more common in hypermobile bodies because differences in collagen can impact the soft‑tissue structures that stabilize tendons like the ECU (the extensor carpi ulnaris tendon in the wrist). . . . . . . . #hypermobility #ehlersdanlossyndrome #EDS #ecusubluxation #hypermobile

If I could go back in time and let myself know what a difference these make?! Omg take me now. As a hypermobile girly (most likely hEDS but not officially diagnosed yet) compression if my bff. Hypermobility doesn’t just live in our joints, our vascular tissue is often part of the mix too! That means more blood pooling in the feet during long hours (or short hours in the heat) on our feet and even hands sometimes. Compression socks give our body the little boost it needs to help regulate. And yall, it freakin works! My feet used to ache like crazy and I would even find ways to bend my knee to kind of “shake” the blood back😂😅, at least that’s what I thought I was doing. Now I can have a long day of massages and not worry about my toes looking like sausages ready to explode at the end of the day. Amazing.🙌🏼 May is Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) Awareness Month! Being hypermobile isn’t just party tricks and being great at yoga poses. It comes with so many other unexpected challenges and the more you know, the better you can support yourself! 🦓🧡 Share this with a hypermobile human in your life that might benefit 🥰 These socks are from @comradsocks and I love all their specific size options and colors.✨ #heds #hsd #hypermobilityawareness #hypermobile #hypermobileehlersdanlossyndrome
