Happy Sunday! I listened to @fathermikeschmitz homily while getting ready for Mass, and it was exactly what I needed to hear today. He was talking about how we as humans are prone to idolizing comfort. We are made for love, labor and leisure. Leisure is great. Comfort is great. But it cannot be idolized and we should not allow our pursuit of comfort to get in the way of what God is calling us to do. How is your desire for comfort affecting your relationship with God? Food is a huge comfort for me, and sometimes I find myself struggling with the sin of gluttony when I am tired, sad, bored, etc., instead of dealing with what God is revealing to me through those emotions. It’s important to embrace uncomfortably sometimes. Mortification (dying to self) helps us to make room for God to work in our lives. 🤍 #catholicism #christianity
