People see my instagram and think I have it all figured out. But the truth is — I’m FAR from perfect. 1. Ego in academics I entered med school with perfect grades and unknowingly brought an invisible ego. I thought I was “naturally smart” (which I obviously wasn’t) and I started to slack off — no drive, no ambition and slowly stopped caring. 2. Blaming others in tennis I was ranked no. 1 for my age group until a knee injury took me out for a year. I became insecure, scared of losing, and blamed everyone: coaches, parents, even friends. I slacked in training and only learned to take responsibility when it was already too late. 3. Valuing relationships Before uni, I didn’t know how to truly value friendships and relationships. I hurt others unintentionally and lost many that were important to me. And that’s something I’m now trying to rebuild. 4. Time with family As I got older, I stopped prioritising family. I buried myself in career, fun, and work — and even forgot the importance of showing my family I love them. But now I see how lucky I am to have a family that supports me unconditionally. This year, despite being overseas, one of my biggest goals is to be a better son and brother. This is my museum of failures and the lessons they gave me.
