Most people try to learn while their nervous system is still asleep. Bad strategy. Before I study or teach, I run a quick neurological coordination drill from educational kinesiology. Because learning isn’t about effort. It’s about brain–body signal clarity. When coordination improves: • Focus sharpens • Processing speed increases • Retention goes up Instructions (Short + Clear) 1. Shake out both hands, wrists relaxed — 10 seconds 2. Rotate both hands: • One slow • One twice as fast — 15 seconds 3. Switch speeds. 4. Reverse direction with one hand — 15 seconds Total time: ~1 minute Purpose: wake up the brain before learning In my group coaching, we don’t start cold. We prime the nervous system with targeted exercises for high performers. Comment 2026 for the full REBOUND Method. #braingym #brainexercise #frontallobe #mindgym #drbrody

A research-based tip to help with memorization & retention?? Yes please! … Have you ever learned something and then… forgotten it all within a few days? Why does this happen? 🤔 Researcher Ebbinghaus was a pioneer of memory research and in 1880 he developed a concept known as the Ebbinghaus' Forgetting Curve - it maps the rate at which memories are lost over time. In short, when it comes to ‘non-meaningful’ information, like work-related presentations or responses to interview questions, it takes only a number of days to forget it all. The initial findings have been replicated many times in more recent years (including in Murre & Dros, 2015). There’s some good news here - All is not lost! If you want to remember something longer than just 3 days, Chun & Heo (2018) discovered an optimal review frequency to help you retain the content. After you first learn whatever it is you want to remember, 👉Review it on Day 1️⃣ 👉Review on Day 3️⃣ 👉And review again on Day 6️⃣ This is the magic memorization formula. 💪 What do you find helpful when it comes to boosting your memory and retaining information? 👇 Reference: • Chun, B. A., & Heo, H. J. (2018, January). The effect of flipped learning on academic performance as an innovative method for overcoming ebbinghaus' forgetting curve.
