Secret tip when skating fast at the end 😱 Have you learned all of your skating basics yet? Here’s how you can turn fast to avoid obstacles.. The parallel turn is a must for every beginner skater! You can learn it with the following 5 easy steps: 1. Scissor your skates 2. Learn on your corresponding edges (one skate is on the outside edge and the other on the inside edge) 3. Turn in the direction of your leading skate 4. Rotate your head, arms and torso 5. Bend your knees in the curve! Most beginners don’t struggle with speed. They struggle with control. And control doesn’t come from moving faster. It comes from moving correctly. When kids start rolling, this is what usually happens: • Body bends too much forward • Hands fly everywhere • Legs go too wide • They drag feet instead of lifting From outside it looks like “they are skating.” But technically, they are just surviving on wheels. Proper rolling means: ✔ V stance ✔ Knees bent ✔ Back straight ✔ Hands stable ✔ Lift → Place → Lift → Place If your child learns to lift their legs properly in the beginning, their balance improves 2x faster. If they only drag and push randomly, bad habits become permanent. Parents make one big mistake: They get excited seeing movement. But movement is not skill. Controlled movement is skill. How to perform lemons on inline skates Stand on your skates with your knees soft and slightly bent to keep balance and control. Bring your heels together and turn your toes out. Start moving forward by gently pressing through your heels. As you roll, slowly bring your toes together, keeping your knees relaxed and your movements smooth. When your toes meet, turn them out again and repeat the movement several times. Save this and practice lemons on your next training!
