Unpopular opinion, I think interlocking is better than retwisting 🫠 Here’s why… ~ interlocking allows your hair to actually loc. When we get retwist, yes it looks neat but it takes longer for your hair to loc over time depending on the texture of your hair. With a retie your hair is locking almost instantly, it’s not going anywhere even if you wash your hair. ~ Interlocking allows you to go longer periods of time without getting your hair done. With my first set of locs I went at least 3 months without doing my hair. Of course with micro locs it’s different and I don’t recommend that, but with traditional locs you don’t need a retwist every week or every month in my opinion. Interlocking allows you to have longevity without your hair unraveling after every workout session or wash. ~Interlocking is not for every one of course but if you’re someone who lives a busy lifestyle or very active, then I say give it a shot. I wash my hair often because I workout and interlocking allows me to do that without my retie going anywhere. There may be some frizz but my roots are still intact. Also if you don’t like to get your hair done often this may be for you.
